Meet Diva09, the official mascot of Roma 2009. She will be introducing the 13th FINA World Championships, and exemplifies joy, vitality, and the ability to adapt.
Yes, her name does include the ’09′ which was added to associate the mascot to the specific event, but also to make the name more exclusive which provides a uniqueness “that the mascot wants to have.”
The personification of the frog doesn’t end there. There is a thorough description of Diva09′s personality–in case you wanted to get to know the mascot on a more personal level. Here is a quote from the website describing Diva09; however, if you really want to get the full experience (Diva09 has her own site with Van Halen’s Jump playing in the background) check it out for yourself.
“Diva09 is an elegant and vain frog, womanish and hyperactive, but above all distract and vanishing. Most probably she will say something and then forget it immeadiately (sic) creating in this way a mysterious and funny atmosphere around her.”
It looks like the direct translation is a little funky, but we get the idea. Do mascots normally have a personality description? I really don’t know. Go to the website to check out Diva09!
