Olympic Day commemorates the creation of the IOC on June 23, 1894 in Paris, which marks the birth of the Modern Olympic Movement. This 115th Anniversary is being celebrated around the world with an annual Olympic Day Run, which was promoted by the IOC Sport for All Commission to get people all over the world to participate in a celebration of sport regardless of age, gender, or ability.
The Chicago 2016 bid is also promoting the event, and links to a list of cities that are participating in an Olympic Day run or other activity.
