Dara Torres For Nick Jr. Hispanic Heritage Month

I was working with Aaron this weekend in Maryland, and he told me that Dara Torres is featured as a Hispanic role model on Nick Jr. for Hispanic Heritage Month. Dara has made numerous appearances on TV and online, but I’m pretty sure this is her cartoon debut. Dara Torres’ Knee Surgery And Pistachios Commercial: Both “Get Crackin’”

dara torres get crackin

Ooof! I feel a bit squeamish with the ironic pairing I found in the Dara Torres
Get Crackin’ with Wonderful Pistachios Commercial alongside news of Torres’ planned knee surgery in which “her shinbone will be broken to create more room for cartilage to grow around her kneecap” (source).

I found out about the commercial from Gold Medal Mel, and the knee surgery from @universalsports on Twitter – all within about 2 minutes of each other. Thanks guys! (Chills).

I’m sure the pistachios are really tastey, and I hope her surgery goes well on October 20th, but hearing about both at the same time sure doesn’t make me want to Get Crackin’.
