Cincinnati Wakeboarding Team Sets Guinness World Record – The Wake Nation Cincinnati Team recently set a Guinness World Record for the greatest distance traveled on a wakeboard in 24 hours by a team. The 10 member team covered 506.8 miles by doing 1,448 labs around Wake Nation

Check out this fun blog post on Food & Water by Garrett Weber-Gale! Garrett does underwater bike tricks as a fun way to train for respiratory endurance. It looks like a lot of fun if your aquatics director will let you put a bike in the pool. Training your lungs can be tedious and difficult unless you find a fun way to distract yourself.

I agree with the17thman – in a recent blog post, he suggested that Australian Swimming Champion and Celebrity MasterChef semi-finalist Eamon Sullivan should take on USA Olympic Gold Medalist and Athletic Foodie Garrett Weber-Gale in a Dual In The Kitchen.

Sullivan boasts a mastery of savory dishes, while Weber-Gale specializes in a lighter, Mediterranean menu. Both stars can be seen cooking on television: Sullivan obviously on Australian Celebrity MasterChef, while Weber-Gale has filmed 13 one-minute episodes of his own cooking tips show “Athletic Foodie.”

They could combine their cooking event with a dual in the pool. Eamon (47.32) would edge Garrett (47.78) in the 100m Free, but would be out-touched in the 50m (Sullivan 21.65, Weber-Gale 21.47). These times are based on Wikipedia entries, but the bottom line is that it would be a pretty even match-up.

An article by the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinel Online titled Looking beyond swimming career, Olympian Weber-Gale has 5-year plan for fame in food talks about Garrett’s training in the kitchen on his road to becoming a foodie icon.

With the passion of an Olympic athlete, Garrett has already been training hard, and taking risks – spending weeks in an Italian kitchen, and already making appearances in episodes of Wisconsin Foodie.
