Eight Swimming Twitter Accounts I Inadvertently Followed

swimming on twitter

1. Swimming with Sharks @swsDC Good girls kiss n’ tell. Follow J and her friends as they date and relate in Washington, DC. – NOT what I had in mind.

2. Swim Party @swimparty Indie rock band whose songs are as pretty as their lights. – Hmm, cool viking-hat-wearing profile pic.

3. Midnight Swimming @Mdnightswimming Midnight Swimming is a digital and vinyl independent record label. – Too dark to tweet.

4. Halloween Swim Team @hstmusic Self described Synth Post Punkers? – I was so excited by the title – then so let down by yet another swimming band fake-out.

5. Adult Swim @adultswim Cartoon Network program – Ok this one I already followed advertently.

6. Swim Design @swimdesign 1 follower, 1 following, no description? – I mean, we could all use some design.

7. Swimming @swimming Tweets: 1 – Not fair! They’re bogarting the account name and not even using it!

8. ???/Atsushi/Smile @diving I like…dance(house, hiphop, lock),darts, diving – He likes diving, his profile picture is of urinals, and I don’t speak Japanese – so we’ll have to stop there.

FINA Allows Men And Women Equal Coverage (Kneeskin)

According to a Twitter update made my Rowdy Gaines, it appears that FINA has modified their most recent ruling to allow men to wear “Kneeskins” that offer the same coverage for males and females.

rowdy gaines twitter update

It was previously ruled that men were restricted to jammers, or suits extending not above the waist or below the knee – while females were allowed “short johns” or “kneeskins,” suits that do not extend beyond the shoulder or below the knee.

It’s easy to see how this initial rule could have been over-simplified. However, because the fabric itself may reduce surface drag on the body, it’s only fair to allow men the same coverage as women. But will men be allowed to wear a zipper-back suit? There’s never been a “recordbreaker back” or cross back men’s bodyskin or kneeskin available.

Twitter Coachisms

twitter coachismsI found this great Twitter feed of Coachisms, inspirational and motivational quotes, that echo the words of memorable coaches and philosophers. To ensure that a motivational quote is never far, I’ve added it to my sidebar!

The feed is run by Mentionable, a series of Twitter accounts that serve different interests. Aside from Coachisms, Mentionable also hosts topics such as RealEstateFans, Barackisms, BridalTopia, and QuotoPhoto.

Dan & Dave Davidson own the feed, and also have a YouTube Channel and photography website.
