The University of Southern California Trojans (or “Women of Troy” as it applies to the women’s water polo team) edged out Stanford University by one point in the January 28 Women’s Varsity Top 20 Poll.
It’s no secret that the USC Women of Troy have a depth of talent to draw from, including two returning All-Americans and a “slew” of talent from last year’s NCAA Finalist squad. However, years of experience is not the only way to measure the talent on this year’s team. The ladies have logged significant travel time in international competitions. Kami Craig, Team USA representative and silver medalist in Bejing is currently a Junior at USC. In college, however, she plays side-by-side with Dutch Olympic rival, and gold medalist Ilse van der Meijden.
